This UI-WebServer is a simple plug-in web server for UI-View32. It provides information on stations either seen on RF from my location or local South African stations via my iGate. The pages currently available are -

  • Home - Where in the world am I?
  • Bulletins - a list of bulletins.
  • All Stations - a list of all stations heard.
  • All WX Stations - a list of all WX stations heard.
  • All Mobile Stations - a list of all mobiles stations heard.
  • Information - This page.
  • Telit EZ10 APRS - All the information on my Telit EZ10 GSM based APRS unit.
  • South African Maps - A list of downloadable maps for South Africa.
  • My APRS Server - A link to the status page on my server.
  • UI-View 32 Home Page - Where to get UI-View32.
  • APRS OpenTracker - The Open Source APRS Tracker that I am using.
  • EYTraker - A link to Hennie's GPRS based APRS unit.
  • South African Radio League - Home of South African Hams.

I have updated the various pages, and have included Google Earth maps, a packet error table for the station displayed and a RF view of APRS from my home. The weather in Johannesburg has been added, as well as a link to the Webring for ui-View Servers.

24 April 2008 - I have completed my GPRS based APRS unit. It is based on the Telit EZ10 GSM module with the firmware running on the modem. This is written in Python and is open-source with each unit sold. I do plan to move the source files to Sourceforge in due course. The present kit consists of the GPS/GSM engine (MTN Pay-As-You-Go SIM for South African Hams with R30.00 airtime), antennas and software. The cost at the moment is R 1425.00 including VAT, but excluding postage. If you want to know more, either call me, or send me an email (andy(at)zs6cey.org).

Also, I will have more of my RF OpenTracker Kits available. Please let me know if you want one. The cost is ZAR775.00 (in kit form), or ZAR900.00 (assembled without housing). This kit consists of all the components, GPS engine, GPS antenna, software and maps.

NOTE: Please, these prices are for the hams only. Should you require these for commercial applications, please contact me. This has to do with the firmware open source licence issues.

All the maps are kindly provided by Gerhard, F5VAG / DL7MW.
